The year is 1867, explorer Ernst Schlechter & his brother, the famed botanist, Rudolf Schlechter, arrive in north-west Africa in search of new species of fauna & floral, and amongst their many adventures was the discovery of the aptly named scorpion, "Parathabus Schlechteri".

Year later, Ernest settled in Namibia, followed by the cape to focus on his growing family, who to this day carry on in his adventurous and curious footsteps. Inspired by his discoveries and adventure, we celebrate his - and his grandsons memory, our late father Max Rudolf Schlechter. A true hunter, diver, graduate, fisherman and Bon vivant.
